Bookish Astrologer

Every personality has an astrological sign and so does every character.

Her face just screams, “I marry that douche bag?!” Sorry Charlotte Lucas but you are the only one who would!
Everybody say hello to Charlotte, Elizabeth's best friend and arguably the most sensible character in the entire book. She represents the cynicism of the age: marriage isn't about love. Not that she doesn't want to be loved but there are more material things like eating that take precedence. She argues that love comes later which can happen or you could end up miserable like Mr. Bennet.
For these reasons and many more, I deem Charlotte a Taurus female.
She’s just such an earth sign! A water sign would never seek out someone they didn’t love to marry, though they wouldn’t say no if they were asked. A fire sign would want to marry where there is passion and adventure. An air sign couldn’t handle Mr. Collins's drabble (and let's be honest, who would want to?).
Taureans are patient, domestic, loyal and reliable. Remember when she told Lizzy it was a comfort to run her own home? Hearth and home is the Taurus’ bread and butter. And you’d have to be patient and loyal to be friends with someone with a sharp tongue like Lizzy Bennet! The only real downside to a Taurus, and specifically the females, is the stubbornness. Often the docile cow, one forgets that the true sign is a bull who will fight for what they want.
Whenever I watch or read Pride and Prejudice I always get really mad at Charlotte for marrying this poor shmuck and then only spending a few minutes with him a day? Really? I get it, she got what she wanted from him and in the BBC version it looks like there is affection between the two but I’m very much like Lizzy that I don’t envy them. She’s not cold, that’s not the Taurus’ way. It more like selective love which is given out in doses.
My best friend is a Taurus female and I can see very distinct similarities between the two of them so I feel like I’m being accurate. But I am a bit partial so how am i doing?

^^this guy has the misfortune of being Mr. Collins. that’s right, “the dreaded cousin, who is to inherit.” any woman in her right mind would want to vomit at the mere mention of his name let alone having to listen to him drone on and on about Fordyce’s sermons (except Charlotte but we’ll get to her later). but what makes this dude so fracking annoying?
he’s an aries male.
their motto is i am, and after it you can hear the audible whisper awesome…i am awesome? yea, he thinks like that.
the bright side to this guy is that he’s positive, energetic, confident, ambitious and outspoken. but he’s also impatient, selfish, foolhardy and cannot take the word “no.”
the most obvious scene where this takes place is when Mr. Collins proposes to Elizabeth and she has the audacity to say n-o. so he takes it that she doesn’t mean it. oh but wait, she does. so then he runs to the first girl who will give him any attention and marries her. but it’s not just anyone, he marries Lizzy's best friend! impulsive and rude? when an aries male feels slighted it's like being beaten by a battering ram: they will never let you forget it. exhibit a, “look how happy my wife is, aren’t you jealous?” ok so he doesn’t exactly say that but you have to admit it sounds an awful lot like that when she’s walking around his new crib.
let’s take a quick moment to analyze his relationship with Lady Catherine. How do you beat a ram? attention, or at least the allusion that you’re giving it. the big L.C. does this well: she gave him a house, she has to approve everything he does (which he takes as approval), and she listens to him blather about his own self importance. I hate this woman but she knows how it goes when you’ve got a ram on your hands!
no one, and i mean no one, likes being right more than an aries. an aries soul is brand new and therefore they will make more social blunders than the rest due to the fact that they only know what’s going on in their own heads. there is no “social conscious,” it’s all individual mind. so, when an aries (especially a male) screws up, he assumes it’s everyone else’s fault and if it is they get to say, “see? i was right!” be prepared because it can be a full blown nananana booboo, i told you so parade or it can be done the Mr. Collins way. a subtle letter may one day be found in your possession after something awful has happened to you or your family. the gist is, he is so glad he doesn’t share your pain that he feels the need to tell you that, and then tell everyone else.
no doubt this guy is a massive jerk but there are some upsides (let’s not screw Charlotte too much). he’s loyal, he’s always good for a laugh (whether at him or with him is up to the individual), and he loves. it may not be overly romantic like a cancer or passionate like a scorpio but it’s better than nothing at all (i’m looking at you aquarians).
so, that’s Mr. Collins!
more to come soon! feedback is always appreciated!

HI!

ok so before i start cranking stuff out tonight i just wanna say hey to nathan (hey girl hey!) for following this blog almost immediately! what are friends for, right?

keep in mind it’s like 12:30 AM so my spelling/sentence structure may be fuzzy.

also, you might notice as i go along there are certain signs i either don’t get or don’t particularly get along with. i’m also very partial to pisces (cuz we’re awesome).

so, without further ado: my first character review!

1 note

So I finally picked the first book!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE…

Pride and Prejudice! I know the book inside and out and after a couple of months of reading and rereading and research i think i have finally got most of the characters down. I’ll probably start with the lesser characters whose names you probably don’t remember and work my way up to the main characters, finishing with Elizabeth and Darcy.

I’m not really sure when I’ll have time to actually sit down and get these done seeing as I’m taking two classes and working part time but i’ll make it work. Also, sorry for the typos but i’m a really bad speller and if spell check don’t catch me, i certainly won’t!

so…yea, i’ll see you soon :)

The Beginning

So this is where it all starts.

Remember this because one day I will make this a book and become rich and famous…well not really but I can dream!

I will be reviewing fictional characters and determining what their astrological signs are. Except for things like Twilight where they practically hand it to you (though I might just for fun).

These reviews are all up for debate. Please, feel free to tell me if you think I’m full of baloney but not because of my belief in astrology, only if you notice an error in my analysis.

Let the games begin! (and may the odds be ever in your favor) <—i had to.
